Can't reply because I've changed my age??

Been messaged by a couple and as their max age was 48 and I'm nearly 50 wouldn't let me reply because it says I've changed my age?? I haven't?

if they have a set age limit it would stop you messaging them but if they have messaged you first and you reply to that message shouldn't that override their age limit ?
