Messages don't get deleted

Why are messages not deleted from friends and other contacts. Still a history of chats on profile.

Since they removed the title bar from messages you can't start a new message thread. Even if you have deleted them, as soon as you send another message to someone it reopens the thread and shows the old messages.

I know. So annoying. If I wanted to save the messages I would do but it should give you the option of deleting messages forever.
