Improvements to filter settings?

Any chance we can have actual choices for filtering who messages us, or who we are interested in?

Is there a way for me to filter out transvestite men? Cool that they've got a place to have their fun, but for all those out there living as trans men/women it kinda makes it really difficult for everyone having them all clumped together. It's not representative and puts women who want to meet trans women at risk.

They are not the same thing, this isn't the 80's.

Last time I saw this proposed there appeared to be ALOT of trans hate directed towards the person who suggested, that's not the intention here. We all deserve better representation and that isn't happening here just yet.

Hiya op

The message filters are helpful and embrace everything else, yes it's not the 80s thankfully and a great deal has been achieved since

What isn't for you doesn't mean it'll be similar to everyone else and impossible to speak for them

Hi mate.

I'm not speaking for them. I'm speaking for myself.

As someone who meets trans women, it would be great to be able to specifically filter out transvestite men, as there is a HUGE difference between a transvestite man and a transwoman.

However, thanks for your contribution. It's an important subject that does need better representation, let's hope that can be allowed to happen.

Why mention that it puts "women who want to meet trans women at risk" then?

I meet trans people and personally don't feel anymore at risk than meeting any other random stranger on the Internet.

I have seen a lot of posts in the past from both transmen and transwomen asking for the them to be given their own 'labels' for want of a better word.

They generally don't want to be included with the transvestites and cross dressers. No offence to anyone but as stated by the OP they are very different dynamics.

It doesn't particularly bother me either way but I fully support the idea.

Because it does. I've been chatting to "trans" women on here before fully expecting to meet a transwoman. Instead after a day or two of chatting the lad turns around and says, "oh, I'm not trans, I just like wearing women's clothes and pretending". And that's cool, if that's his crack then fair play and I'm glad he's found his thing....but that's not allowed to come across clearly on this site through those lack of options. I'm glad you've had good experiences, wicked to hear. I just feel those outthere like me who specifically want to meet both non trans and trans women aren't given a fair time from basic settings. And it would help everyone across the board.

I have yet to see a single argument against better, clearer and fairer representation that makes sense.

You may have missed my point, apologies. I'm differentiating between transvestite men and transwomen. Not women and transwomen.
