Posting about other lifestyle sites

Having just joined another lifestyle site, I wonder whether I can post on here about it, asking for fabbers to add me on said site. Can I explicitly say the site's name?

eg:

"I have joined (site name), my username is DukeJosh, add me"

I doubt it. It is against site rules to promote other sites and quite rightly.
