Been exchanging messages with another user that's also a site supporter. One of my sent messages has disappeared from the thread history, what could cause that to happen?

You may have deleted it by mistake by hitting the side of the message it happens when scrolling down

The missing message was part of an ongoing chat. Not an individual message with a new header. One message has vanished from within the thread. It went unread for over a week but it showed up in the sent message thread with the yellow (unread) status. Then....gone, disappeared, all other messages still there, but not that one? I can only think its a system glitch or auto removed by the server to free up space.
