Report function down?

I just noticed that the requirement to input a captcha code when reporting someone is no longer there, but it was there yesterday or the day before.

Is the reporting system down or has the need to enter a captcha code been removed?

It's the same on Fabguys.

Thank you.

I've always had to enter a captcha code when reporting someone. Last done on Tuesday (asking to buy 'whiff'). I noticed it has a time out and if you take too long typing the reason and then submit it, it will say the captcha is wrong even though it isn't and you have to refresh to get another and then paste your reason in to avoid it happening again. But now the captcha bit is gone completely for me. I've submitted a fair few reports, for abuse, illegal activity, solicitation etc., and always had to input a captcha before I could submit it and every time a two way invisibility wall has been erected between our two profiles within sixty seconds and the user vanishes from my block list (but not my inbox). On this occasion, no captcha requested and no invisibility wall either, which leads me to think there's a bug and it's hit both sites simultaneously.

Maybe someone was tinkering with settings or security features yesterday?

Hello,

I understand it takes about 48 hours but I've not had a response on the forums or to the contact form I submitted about this bug.

The bug is still occurring since I reported it on Friday.

I can't do a username change until it's fixed as one of the guys I reported for abuse is still in my block list rather than the two way invisibility wall blocking our view of one another. I'm in his block list, so he'll see if I change my username and he can see my status and whether I'm online.

Please advise.

captcha deffo not there maybe the site has removed the need for it as it doesnt really make a report any more or less genuine just prevents it being a bot

"captcha deffo not there maybe the site has removed the need for it as it doesnt really make a report any more or less genuine just prevents it being a bot "

I thought that the feature had perhaps been removed too, but I'm starting to think that it's a bug, because in my thirteen or so years of using the sites on and off, whenever I've reported someone for something illegal or abuse, their profile has disappeared from my blocklist within sixty seconds as the two way invisibility block seems to go on automatically in those instances, whether it's 2pm on a weekday or 3am on a Sunday.

However I reported a guy who was both abusive and admitted to illegal substance use (I had to tell him three times I wasn't interested and he became abusive) and he's still in my block list and, if he blocks me, can still see when I'm online, my status update and if I change my username etc. That was on FG. When the two way block didn't go on for reporting illegal substance use I reported him for abuse after blocking him and he didn't disappear then either. He's still there and this was Friday.

Simultaneously I had a guy on FS who asked me if I wanted to hookup and, knowing his name and pic from years ago and knowing that he was a time waster, added to the fact that he still has no verifications at all years later, I politely said I was not interested and blocked him. He then posted my username in his status update naming and shaming me for rejecting him in my first and only message (I don't think you can get any more efficient than that, so I'm not sure how that makes me a time waster. Maybe in his view I would have preemptively messaged him to tell him I wasn't interested so that he knew not to message me?!). He is still showing in my block list also, but I'd reported it using the 'other' tag and detailed he was naming and shaming maliciously simply, because I had said I wasn't interested in my one and only reply to him.

The fact that they're no longer disappearing makes me think the system is playing up. I know a few months ago there was an issue where blocks were not applying but I haven't had any reply here or by message in response to my contact forms to both sites (I selected the bug report option).

It's a bit concerning because I'm not sure if the reports are being received and if they're not, then these people are getting away with what they're doing.

The latter guy posted another unrelated status update yesterday, so it doesn't seem he's been given any timeout for naming and shaming me despite my doing nothing wrong, so all of these things lead me to believe the system is malfunctioning.

If an admin could look into it please and refer it, to a techy if needs be, it would really be appreciated.

I get a lot of messages from people about money, illegal substances and a fair bit of abuse for declining to meet them for whatever reason, so it's important to me that the report feature is working. With the automatic two way invisibility wall, at least I had the peace of mind of knowing that my report had gone through, but now I can't tell because nothing at all changes.

I might check another browser and see if the captcha reappears. I'm using Opera. What are you using?

"Calm down all reports still get looked at "

Thanks for your helpful contribution .

As clearly stated above, the three things I mention indicate the reports aren't going through.
