I think if they are using the other profiles to get round filters ie age gender etc then its wrong but im not sure if its against the rules

I don't think there is a specific rule that says one person one profile, but there are rules about not trying to trick or scam people, so I think a lot of the reasons you might want a second profile are covered and so by having those muliple profiles you put yourself in breach of something. I'm aware of people having several profiles and messaging the same person from each one in an attempt to get their interest.

I'm curious as to what the rules are on it.

it depends, if it is to use for different types of play no, if it is to deceive or cause a nuisance then yes.

Having said that, sometimes people think someone has lots of profiles but they are not, there is no harm in reporting for it to be looked at though

I'm aware that some use different profiles to message the same person in the hope that one of the profiles will get a response.

Others do it to hide their playmates from each other.

I could list other reasons.

I wasn't aware of the fact we could for different types of play. Thats interesting.

Exactly this. I know someone who has one for his male side and one for his TV play side. Each profile set to attract different people. I don't see any harm in this at all.
