Changing a User name

Could anyone please offer some advice.... A friend has changed her user name to reflect her new status and now cant access the site at all... She changed her name successfully, and used the site afterwards, but now finds that she cant log in at all. Her new User name is showing on my friends list.Any suggestions would be gratefully received

recover pass - use new username.
