This might be stupid...

I've just messaged someone who I'd thought I'd messaged before. I may have deleted the previous un-replied message (as "they're not interested").

Is there a way of me marking profiles in some way, so that I don't message someone that I know/suspect doesn't want to chat?

Manchester (she/her)

Site supporters can add private notes to profiles

Click on the right hand button at the top when you're on a profile, there's a button to add a private note. Hope that helps

"Site supporters can add private notes to profiles "

Ah didn't know it was site supporters only, thanks for clarifying

Thank you. Think that relies on me seeing the tiny little note icon, which might work, maybe, lol

I'm open to other ideas that are perhaps more idiot proof, if anyone has any.

Lots of people just block when they know someone isn't interested so they don't end up messaging the same people accidentally, no harm in it if it's easier for you.

Newcastle

Have a little black book keeping notes obviously in alphabetical order making easier to search through

I personally would block anyone I knew was not interested in me ...It saves wasting their time and mine x

You used to get a pop-up message saying you've previously messaged someone and they've not replied - is that not still the case?

A

Yes this still appears, sadly doesn’t seem to be a deterrent to some though.

On mobile I've seen it, but (like a few things about the site design) it could be improved - the sender's eye is naturally drawn to the message text box.

This is the solution for me - blocks their whole profile from my view, so there's no way to message without noticing. Thanks

Well judging by your profile/pics, that's going to be a very small percentage

But back on topic... It would be better to have a 'hide' profile tickbox, rather than the notes.
