Can’t add new pictures from my phone

Hi. I can’t seem to add a new picture to my gallery from my phone gallery. I’ve tried different sizes but each time I choose the pic it just doesn’t appear. Any clues to what I’m doing wrong?

No still didn’t work. I can attach a photo to a message if I take it there and then. Just doesn’t like gallery pictures. Very odd
