Our status update keeps resetting itself to blank after 48 hours. Is this normal?

The status update page says:

Current status is a fun way to keep your profile fresh and interesting and keep people up to date on what you're doing or looking for right this minute! If you haven't updated your status in 2 days, we blank it so that it doesn't go stale.

think there is a glitch with status sometimes it keeps it one for over a week other times takes it off after a day and if you clear it and not put another one on it puts the last one back on itself lol xxxx we got gremlins in the works
