We all do it from time to time, but is it easier on app or desktop version?

We’ve only used the App (iPhone) and it can be quite ‘clunky’

Would we be better off doing stuff on the desktop site?

Some people seem to refer to the mobile version of the site as an "app." In fact, I think that Fab might call it that, but I could be misremembering that.
