If you block someone we know they can't contact but can they still view profile, pictures etc

Yes they can.

If you go look at your blocked list you can still see a profile pic and status updates on there. They don't show up on update lists though.

They can also still see any forum posts you put on.

I wouldn't be, but some people when they are blocked then block you back to keep an eye on your status updates through their own block list.
