I recently requested to join amigos club and used the verification method, where they see you are an established and verified member of fab or another site and then accept you, however I received an email stating that they could not find my username on the site and refused my application, any ideas?

Your username begins with a full stop which could explain the confusion that lead to them being unable to find your profile.
