Check whether the extra features are worth it for you, is the best approach.

It's not a lot and doesn't renew, unless you choose to.

This is entirely up to you how much you want out of using the site by getting a site supporter because you get different benefits so I'd suggest see what's available that suits your requirement best.its not much as in cost and gives you the opportunity to explore the site properly

I find being a silver supporter better value as it lasts a lot longer than gold. The extras you get with gold aren't worth much more to me, though they may be for some people.

I would suggest trying an upgrade for the small amount / short period and see if it works for you , then you can upgrade for longer.

Only you will know if it's worth your while or not
