Following on from my previous post, how accurate are the distances shown on searches and profiles. Not determined by phone location, but by postcode?

hiding from cock pics.

I think they are reasonably accurate but it's of course depending on what postcode is entered.

If I wanted to, I could put a Scottish postcode, but I'm a couple of hundred miles away from there. It would then show my home is being Scotland so it's up to the profile holder to set whatever postcode they like.

Isn't that as dishonest as saying you're a couple when you're not, straight when you're bi and can accommodate when you can't?

No, it’s not. Someone might be visiting another area and want to meet people locally, changing their postcode for the duration of their visit would make that easier.

Some people want their privacy and don't want people knowing where they live.

Fair comment, I hadn't thought of that one.

somewhere

Not quite the same but we have had a few people contact us and say they are living abroad but their postcode AND mobile location says they are only 50 miles away etc so are they trying fast one or what?

If we are abroad and search for someone who is back in the UK it always says 1000 miles etc.

If they are using the mobile site on their phone I find the distance they are, much more accurate than postcode

Postcode refers to where they are/were based when they set up their account.

Distance refers to where they are when they are logged in to their fab account.
