Several times i have seen my messages go unread but the recipient has viewed my profile.

Is this normal or is there a way of circumventing the read message?

I do that sometimes and if interested in the person will then reply to their message xx

My guess is that they are viewing your profile to see if they want to answer your message.

If not read within a few days, they aren't interested.

I view the profile before opening a message.

If the profile shows we have nothing in common then I will leave the message until I'm sat ready to sort through all messages, which could be minutes but could be days.

Concentrate on your inbox, watching your sent box doesn't get you anything as everyone uses the site differently

There's a 'mark unread' button once you've opened a message. I often use it if I don't have time to reply, so that the message is highlighted for me to read properly again, when I do have time.

We view the profile before opening a message,we see if we have spoke before,if we have we look at out private note to see how the previous conversation went

If we haven't spoke before we read the profile to see if a message is with opening.

More times that not,it isn't.

We do this too -

Plus, we both want to be in agreement about a profile (taking things forward). So, one of us may read the message, then mark as unread for the other while we check the profile out at different times.

Other times, we’re just busy and checking things out before there’s a chance to reply - nothing wrong with a cheeky perv!! Happens to us a lot too and it’s all cool x
