"download a pic of flag, take pic from screen with your camera, then add to profile"

If you downloaded the picture of the flag to your PC then you wouldnt need to take another picture of it with the camera, just upload the downloaded image to your profile and see if it gets approved

It probably won't get approved - to do with copyrights and all.

Good luck trying anyway, you never know.

I'm not convinced a countrys flag can be copyrighted... If they can then I'd love to see some evidence because that'd be a fascinating bit of trivia!

There's been a few people on the site already had flags removed from their profile for this reason. I know someone had mentioned they tried to use the standrews cross in part of their buisness logo and had to pay for the privilidge.

"In the laws of England and Wales, it is not just what might be termed as art or literature - it is any created work, even one which exists solely on the internet, for example, regardless of whether the said work contains the copyright symbol or not. Thus, the work does not have to have any particular artistic merit"

apologies for the irony of lifting it off the net

(anything created, ever, belongs solely to the person who created it)

the author went on to say that national flags usually hold a trade mark (TM) rather than the expected copyright (c)

but as always the mods have the final say, and like I said before, you can only try.

This site seems to have joined the 'pc' brigade! I use a St.Andrews cross as my avatar on several forums and neither I nor the site owners have been dragged off in chains!!

It would probably get rejected because the mods only approve pictures of the people rather than landscapes/flags/bikes/houses or whatever

I'm sorry Mark, but that's not true!

There's a couple on here, not a million miles away from me, who've had a landscape pic, and a very nice one too, lol, on their profile for some time and I noticed it again within the past few days!

Or should I get the magnifying glass out to see a person the size of a pinhead somewhere within the landscape? lol
