5 minute message lag?

I've noticed that when u message someone showing as online they appear a minute or two later as having gone offline a couple of minutes before you messaged them! Is this how it always is on here?

You don't show as offline until you've been inactive for five minutes

Messaging is reliable - the message has reached their inbox and they'll find it next time they're online.

Showing as online doesn't mean they are or will go into their messages either

Just because someone is online, it doesn't mean they are looking to chat or meet. Also, it's not instant messaging service here.

Also, just to add, nobody should feel entitled to a reply either. Faq states no response, no interest.

I am pleased it's not instant messaging .There are other services available for that.
