Sent message status

Over the last week I have had two sent messages on my sent folder change from yellow to white. Also the status in brackets has changed from [unread] to [replied]. Although I have never received the replies. Also for both users, on their profile it says they have not been online during the time the message status changed. Although I have noticed this doesn't always update correctly. I'm concerned that either I have not received any reply due to some site issue or somebody else is somehow able to read them.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Maybe I should make the question more clear.

Is it possible to not receive a sent reply?

Why would an unread message change to replied, and turn white from yellow if no reply sent and message remains unread?

Does my original sent message still exist?

So I actually sent a message to the admins asking this question and never got a response. Which is why I posted here. Still none the wiser.

From my understanding, if someone clicks into the message and anywhere near the text box,

the system can update to show replied, however, if they type something and discard it or didn't mean to click into that space and don't send a message, nothing will be sent.

Does that make sense?

Honestly though. Delete your sent box and just focus on your inbox

What is the probability of that happening in 100% of the cases for the 2 messages I sent though?

How can I focus on my inbox when I feel like it's not working?

On a small screen mobile phone it is stupidly easy to click into that box (From personal experience)

If you've messaged a couple, they could simply leave it in the inbox until they've both viewed the message/your profile, and or discussed their thoughts.

There's probably many other reasons as how other people use and run their profiles is diverse and doesn't need justifying.

No response is this sites 'no thank you'.

I fully understand what you are saying but I don't think you understand me.

The sent message is displaying as if it's been read and replied to. The recipient has not apparently been online.

Its not really anything to do with someone's personal preferences or protocol. It's to do with a broken messaging system.

I do understand what no reply means.

I want to know how an unread message can independently change status on its own.

My head is hurting now OP. Like someone said before, delete your sent box messages, focus on the incoming ones, problem solved. Don't dwell on things and move on. May just be a glitch.
