Somewhere between Newport and Cardiff

In 2016 we were ALL asked a question that even now many of us barely begin to understand. Wouldn't it be good to have a group of people whose sole job is to gather accurate information on issues, debate it, and then vote on our behalf for what they believe is right? We could call it a parliament

Not really, a bunch of people telling us what's best for us and if you don't agree with them it's because you 'don't understand' and should be ignored and dismissed as stupid. At least in a democracy everyone gets a say even if you don't like the outcome.

Both sides have their pros and cons. That is the underlying issue, people in general.

The problem with the current system is there vast majority of voters truely don't even know what they are voting for.

Corbyn for example, regardless of liking him or hating him, if he would be good or not, some are voting solely on the dislike of a single man and ignoring all the good things that could happen with Labour (yes a lot of hate towards him is valid). And the same goes for Boris (just as much as a danger in different ways) . Its a popularity contest no different to any reality tv show, filled with lies and bent truths instead of providing the people with valuable information. When what people should focus on is what their entire party can do, and not be blinded by lies they feed us.

On the flip side to that, having a select group of people making all the choices wouldn't end up any better because eventually their own interests will outweigh those of the people they are there to protect the interests of.

As I have said before the main issue and change that needs to happen is to the rules that the MPs need to follow. They are allowed to get away with far too much dirty tactics and are not held accountable for lies.

Sounds great but would never work. After all the only people you would be able to attract to it would be self interested idiots who would pontificate on what is best for us based on their own circumstance and experiences which would have nothing in common with our own.

Let's replace parliament with Fabswingers forumites instead. Still nothing would ever get done but it'll be far more entertaining on the telly

Who would be prime minister though?

Politicians just need to start being held responsible for their bullshit, all of them lie, cheat, and act like dickheads and they need to have some consequences for their actions.

Bloody bastards the lot of them!
