"Elections today; I would guess that there will be stricter measures imposed once these are passed." Think you're right there.. I think the ferries are stopping services soon.. As you say looks like it suddenly is real

"From what we have read and heard it will be complete lock down by Tuesday. Shit is now very real, glad we live in the middle of nowhere!" Living in the middle of nowhere certainly has advantages right now.. makes a change..lol

"Macron on tele at 8 tonight to announce more measures so possible border closures and maybe more. T" Oh bugger, hope that doesn't mean more serious stay at home restrictions because at least now we can still go out for some exercise.

"So are people still able to go to work or is it a complete lock down? " You can go to work but you need to print off a form stating where you are traveling to and why but it’s only a 38e fine if you are caught without said form. Best of luck. T

"Still able to go to work. You will need to complete and sign a form and carry this with you if travelling. The form will be available tomorrow. You can hand write it should you not have access to a printer." I think I'll put an empty printer ink cartridge in the car and say I'm off to the supermarket to buy a new one to print the form.

"Managed to down load form quickly using the mobile site. Still confused if you are only allowed out alone or if a married couple are allowed to travel together to go shopping or exercising. Friends in Spain say they are only allowed out alone." Correct, all journeys here must be solo. You can't even walk two dogs as a couple.. No forms to carry, but you are required to have some evidence of why you are out. Till receipts are fine on your way home, but Becky has given me a shopping list for Lidl and some carrier bags to show to the Guardia Civil if I get stopped on the way there....!!

" My daughter is stuck near malaga in a camper van, apparently locked on to a site." Tell her to stay put...! You're ok as long as you're on a site, but all campsites are refusing new entries. Once she leaves, she'll be homeless..

"All of Spain is under the same restrictions, but obviously this is prime tourist area with lots of campsites and many stay here for the winter period. As regards the virus, locals believe it was made worse by people coming down here from Madrid to their second homes in an effort to stay safe. As a result, we now have quite a high number of cases in Andalusia. " Same thing happening here in central France. As soon as they announced stronger containment measures on Monday the following morning holiday homes here in Limousin started to become occupied by Parisiens escaping the capital.

"damn... yes it was road cycling and i normally do 50 or more km at a time.. Looks like thats out the window now..damn.. The countryside should be different though as I see nobody normally when I am out.. " It was reinforced in an announcement today that cycling was banned. Going to be many cyclists worried about fitness levels. But a great bonus about living in the countryside is you can off road cycle without being seen. I did a 10km walk today through the forests and fields and not another person in sight.
