French government have made more announcements to say saying that lots of transport systems are going to be cut back. Its pretty much going to be a very full lockdown. Definitely no point in people trying to holiday in france as you'll just be enjoying the inside of your room. I suppose it one big plus of living deep in the countryside, feels just like normal here.

Just flying from Blagnac to Basel now. loads of masks..Dutyfree shut and all shops in the main erea.. A sign on autoroute said Andorra border is closed already.. Airhostesses wearing surgical gloves.. Over and out..

Yes, I heard a similar thing from a friend whose daughter works as a doctor in a hospital in Lyon.

It sounds like France is going to follow Italy and Spain into complete lockdown.

Like you, I live in the country so can still go out, walk the dog etc. but life will certainly be different.

We will just have to wait and see. The situation changes daily - if not more often.

Daily Express have hit rumour control central. They reckon Macron is going to announce total lockdown for five weeks, mobilise Armed a Forces, allow 1 shopping trip per day, and a 6pm curfew. Think we’ll wait until 8pm tonight.

Still able to go to work. You will need to complete and sign a form and carry this with you if travelling.

The form will be available tomorrow.

You can hand write it should you not have access to a printer.

You can go to work but you need to print off a form stating where you are traveling to and why but it’s only a 38e fine if you are caught without said form.

Just a heads up as these forms are not just for work but are needed for all travel from your home and that includes walking the dog going to the doctors basically everything but if this can be policed is another matter.

Correct, all journeys here must be solo.

You can't even walk two dogs as a couple..

No forms to carry, but you are required to have some evidence of why you are out.

Till receipts are fine on your way home, but Becky has given me a shopping list for Lidl and some carrier bags to show to the Guardia Civil if I get stopped on the way there....!!

Same thing happening here in central France. As soon as they announced stronger containment measures on Monday the following morning holiday homes here in Limousin started to become occupied by Parisiens escaping the capital.

Not actually banned, but not one of the five reasons to leave your abode. However, if you have the form that states you are going to the shops, or walking your dog ( obviously you have to have the dog with you, if small in a basket) then you may well be OK. Groups of cyclists are not allowed. That is our understanding anyway. The Gendarmerie may have another view.

It depends why u are cycling

IF it's to fo to your office, it might be authorised

If it"s for sport, it'd banned, on twitter Gendarmerie let us know that sports is for 1/2km max around the house, to relax a little bit.

THat said, I doubt the authorities in the country will be less flexible that in PAris

Yes, cycling is banned for exercise and exercise (jogging, dog walking etc.) is restricted to a maximum distance of 2km from your home.

Likelihood that the restrictions will be extended for up to 4 weeks.

Better bored than dead

Joke aside, what some parisians did, I mean leaving the city by train to go on other cities was a nonsense.They are spreading the virus in the country, and in some small cities hospitals are not well equiped as in Paris.

It was reinforced in an announcement today that cycling was banned. Going to be many cyclists worried about fitness levels. But a great bonus about living in the countryside is you can off road cycle without being seen. I did a 10km walk today through the forests and fields and not another person in sight.

A friend of mine was stopped just outside cycling On Monday and given a stern chat about being more than 3 klms away from his address but he had his form and passport so no more was said.. His strava of course read he had done 25 klms but they were not to know that..
