Change of plans this year and going for a few days in June. Never done Rene Oltra before and usually stay in Port Nature but am seriously thinking of Rene for a new experience. Welcome thoughts from all Cap veterans on what is best...we understand Rene has its own little scene?

If you stay on the Campsite you will need to ensure that you adhere to their code of conduct and not engage in any sexual activity in public. Entertaining people in an apartment is quite easy, it is more difficult on the campsite if you only have a small caravan .

One advantage of the Campsite is that it is cheaper than renting an apartment .

I have done both and prefer the flexibility of an apartment .

Bringing guests onto the campsite involves a bit of extra paperwork _ they cannot just walk in.

Over the years we've stayed in most parts of the village. Port Nature collines 3 to 5 (south facing) are our favourites from a socialising point of view. We've always met fun people there from all over Europe.

Now we prefer the mobile homes on Rene Oltra as we now drive down and the security for the car is far better than the open car parks in the rest of the village. You have to be quiet on the campsite after midnight, so you can get an undisturbed (relatively)early nights kip if you want to.

If we wanted a different swinging scene to port nature I don't think the campsite would be foremost in our thoughts. If you're down for just a few days and want to party why not try Babylon or Eden. We've stayed in Babylon for a long weekend before. We had a fantastic time and it was basically a weekend long party.

Both replies sum it up really.

If you meet someone in the clubs or bars it's easy to take them back to your apartment.

Try taking them into the campsite and you can get into hot water with the security guys.

My advice would be to try the camp site and form your own opinions. People's opinions can often be biased for a variety of reasons.

Hi. I meant in lots if different situations in life . If you have had a great time in one location it may blind you to the advantages / disadvantags of other locations . A bad experience with a particular vehicle may distort your option of the vehicle concerned . Similarly what someone thinks is a great restaurant may be very poor to others.
