We've never slept in a tent but seriously thinking of camping in a small tent as well be travelling by motorbike and it's probably more social than living with n a hotel

What's the weather like in May as we would need to buy pretty much everything and don't want too light or too heavy sleeping bags etc

Hi, I live in the south of France, ride a motorcycle and camp. May is fine. A good temperature really as not too hot yet warm enough to be comfortable.

Decent down sleeping bags, self inflating mats and you will be nice and cozy.

Thanks

Looks like it's going to difficult to fit all the gear on the bike without spending what a hotel would cost for a week for all the lightest gear ??

You will be surprised. It is certainly cheaper camping.

I am currently camping at Cap d'agde with a motorcycle and tent. I have a wealth of knowledge I was going to offer to share until I saw the repetitive 'no single men' on your profile. Go and ask some of your couples for advice.

Poole

There's always the compromise of renting a chalet from Rene Oltra on the campsite. It's probably more reasonable at that time of year. Check out their website and do a costing perhaps.? There's private caravans mixed in with the Touring pitches and some of them advertised as rental ones.would take some detective Work to find details of them tho.You can check past years weather details on websites online. We use Wunderground. Sete is usually the nearest weather station.

Thanks a lot

I had a look at the chalets, unfortunately next year's dates aren't available yet but we will look closer to the time.

I think I value my comfort too.much for camping but still thinking about it and how I can get a comfortable bed on a motorcycle

I use a camp bed, 6' by 2'. A self inflating mat and pillow plus a goose down sleeping bag and silk liner. The camp bed folds to the size of my forearm and fits easily on a motorcycle.

If you search for ultra light camping gear, you will see the type of equipment you need then...go to ebay and buy a Chinese copy.

No need to be uncomfortable camping or cold.

Good luck

Rejection is very hard for some people...we are sure you won't lose any sleep over it!

We have been to Cap seven times, although we don't camp if there is anything we can help you with give us a shout!!

Thanks, I slept very well last night

We may just book an apartment for a week or so, motorcycle camping is something we would probably try a night or two on the way down and the way back north. Not really something we want to do for two weeks lol

Having never camped it looks like an awful lot of gear to fit on a bike for two people to be reasonably comfortable but then I suppose we won't need to much clothing when we get there
