It's not quite what has been posted and the final details have not been announced. Here is the quote from an article in Connexions

France will require a negative Covid test for all travellers arriving in the country from outside the EU, the government has announced today (Wednesday, December 1).

This applies to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers. The test must have been taken within 48 hours of arrival in France for vaccinated travellers and 24 hours in advance for non-vaccinated.

The type of test – PCR or antigen – has not been specified nor when the rule will be enforced.

Hope that provides a little more clarity.

The government spokesman Gabriel attal has confirmed this will come into effect from Saturday (time to be confirmed) and the test can be either pcr or lateral flow as long as timed within 48 hours prior to arrival..info can be found on the local website or various news channels. Hope that clarifies the full information.

"what are the requirements now to enter Uk for people double vaxxed?"

From the Mirror :

France is joining the list of countries tightening up entry rules as a result of the Omicron variant, with new rules in place for any arrivals from outside of the EU - and that will include arrivals from the UK.

Brits heading on France holidays will now be required to show proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR or antigen test taken within 48 hours before travel, regardless of their vaccination status.

The UK is currently on France's amber list meaning only fully vaccinated travellers can visit without needing an essential reason, and without needing to self-isolate. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated won't be allowed to enter for non-essential reasons.

If you're not fully vaccinated, you won't be able to visit unless you have an essential reason and you'll need to meet other requirements such as having a negative PCR test taken within 24 hours of departure.

All travellers are also required to sign a sworn declaration form.

The French government previously announced that from 15 December anyone 65 or over who have been fully vaccinated for more than six months and five weeks will need an approved booster jab to be able to use the 'pass sanitaire'.

This will also apply to those aged 18-64 from January 15, 2022, for those who have been fully vaccinated for more than seven months. This also applies to tourists.

We're off to the UK for 4 days so we'll have to get our arrival test, then another one before coming back..

I crossed 2 days ago, a day after the new regulations. The single French police check was in Dover. I showed passport and proof of double vaccination. Was not asked for the negative PCR test which had been a rushed and expensive affair 48 hours beforehand. Drove into Calais, France without customs or border checks of any kind. Rather annoying.

We're on board ! Thanks to DFDS. We'd booked with P&O but their ferries are cancelled. If you're in the same situation, you need to go to the P&O kiosk to get a transfer voucher before going to the DFDS kiosk. Lots of queues though, so much that the exit to the port from the A16 was closed in both directions. We drove through Calais to enter the port by the service road. Next time we'll book with DFDS..

Haha didn't spot that this was in the France category, had searched ferry on the forums and the title of this post doesn't mention France so it looked like the right spot to us oops

"But France is warmer than Belfast. "

Without a shadow of a doubt.

It's much more interesting too.

Unfortunately we're traveling home rather than to somewhere hot or exciting.
