It's all in French but the gist of it is "you are under surveillance" and if your doing something that you should not be doing you could be in trouble!

Amsterdam, Cap d'Agde

What are the things one should not be doing in the paradise of sexual freedom? Also by surveilleance do you mean in CCTV on the public spaces?

Bristol

Carole Rousseau will soon present a unpublished report "high-voltage investigation" on the theme "libertinage, assaults, Exhibitionism: the hot daily of the police officers of Cap d'Agde".

The Cap d'Agde, a name that makes you dream and fantasizing

Beaches, discotheques, the largest naturist and libertine village in Europe, the Cap d'Agde is also the largest seaside resort in Europe with 15 million of nuités/year.

If the days are relatively quiet, the activity of the policemen rises a notch from the evening in order to contain the overflows of all kinds: assaults, violent flights, Exhibitionism, dangerous driving, fights at the exit of night clubs

1 500 police interventions in 3 months

In the summer, the national and municipal police of Agde carry out 1 500 interventions between 15 June and 15 September

For weeks, TV press cameras have followed the daily lives of these policemen who watch over the tranquility of holidaymakers of the agathois coastline.

It will also be an opportunity for Gilles d'ettore, former police officer and Mayor of the commune since 2001 to renew his confidence in this corporation that has to adapt to the new risks (video excerpt)

I’m not sure that’s the place I know? In ten years, I cannot recall seeing a fight.

Have to admit 1500 incidents seems somewhat exaggerated in 3 months! However, have seen some incidents over the years, including theft, and know of a German businessman, badly injured as a result of a dispute!

It's only 16 incidents per day and if that is for the whole of Cap then I would say it is quite peaceful.

Cap d’Agde, France

Must be walking around with my eyes shut.

In 4 years living in Cap land the only ‘intervention’ I’ve seen, day, evening and night was a suspect WW2 bomb on the beach.

This must be for the whole of Cap- sounds about right. We have an apartment outside the village on the Ils de Loisirs by Luna Park and Amnesia and that can get pretty messy at 3am in the m morn ing with the kiddies. The village itself tends to be self policing in our view.

Although the translation refers to the naturiste / libertine village, the reports must refer to the whole of Cap.

There's no way it could just refer to the bit we know and love.

As mentioned above, the naturist village largely polices itself and we've seen very few incidents in the 20+ years we've been staying there.

Looking forward to watching the TV programme.

That would make much more sense.

It is a TV documentary, so we can clearly discount any degree of exaggeration.

If I recall correctly a few years ago the local mayor reduced the Police presence in the VN as it was self policing and there was more to deal with in the textile area.

With our apartment overlooking the Melrose : Pilou area we have seen plenty of shenanigans but only one scrap and that was an entertaining one way fight between a punter and the baseball bat wielding bald guy from Melrose. Needless to say the punter lost.
