Saunas and Pools....

Hey, I've looked back several pages and cannot see a form on these questions so hoping you can help. We visited cap last year and would like to do a few new things this year ( we are going for 7 nights at the beginning of July, staying inside the village):

1) what are the names of the saunas and how do they vary?

2) I went to Waiki Beach pool last year, what is the name of the other one and would you say it is better/better value?

3) Can you give me names of the clubs, believe there are 3?

4) When we arrived last year was surprised to see how big the "area of Cap" actually is and wondered if it is worth exploring the non naturist side whilst there, if so any recommendations on places to visit, just general taking in the ambience, and is it easy to get to with public transport or taxi?

Thanks for your help xC

Cap d’Agde, France

1) The 2 saunas are 2x2 in Port Ambonne and Karma Sutra in the beach end of Port Nature.

2x2 is couple only, completely indoors and has an adjoining part, Histoire D'O' which is mixed (single males) Entry is about 35 euros for couples.

Karma Sutra has a swimming pool and sun beds with the playrooms down below, entry prices vary depending on wether you just want to sunbathe or also use the playroom. about 20 to 40 euros

Both clubs open in the afternoon and stay open late.

Personally we prefer Karma Sutra since the poolside is bit of a sun trap. As for playing, we find both a bit grotty.

2) The other public pool is adjoining Bodega/Maxines in Port Ambonne, if you are having a meal/drink in these bars I don't think there is a charge although we've never seen many using this pool.

Other pools are attached to 'hotels' like Hotels Eve, Oz Inn, Babylon, Eden.

Hotesl Eve/Oz are for guests and their friends.

Babylon and Eden have themed days throughout the summer which sometimes also include food and drink in the entry price. Entry is about 50 euros per couple but you need to check which days they are open and also get there early if you want a space by the pool.

Both Babylon and Eden have full on sex around the pool on their themed days.

3) There are about a dozen clubs in the Cap and one just outside the entrance by the barrier.

They include, Glamour plus Glamour mousse, Karma Sutra, Tantra ( the owner was murdered during the winter so not sure if it will re-open) Le Jules, Jeux de Main, 2x2/Histoire D'O', Clair Obscur (BDSM club), Le Boudoir, Sex Cinema, Quak C (gay club, Le Riad plus a few restaurants like Joys, YaYas where you can also play.

4) Most visitors to the Cap only ever see the bit of France on the way to the airport but if you have transport there are some beautiful towns, villages and countryside in the region.

Wouldn't bother going to the adjoining Cap resorts such as the vanilla Cap D'Agde or Marseillan Plage. Other than restaurant s and gift shops there is nothing to see and everything seems tame and pale after the Cap.

If you have your own transport within an hours drive you have lovely medieval towns such as Pezenas, St Guihelm-le-Dessert, Marseillan Ville. plus the countryside half and hour to the north is stunning.

Public transport is only good for going between Beziers and Montpellier and towns in between.

Bicycles can be hired at the Cap entrance and they're are plenty of cycle lanes and flat countryside around the Cap.

The best and closest alternative to the Cap is Terre de Soleil/L'extasia.

Situated in an old wine Domain about 25 mins drive from the Cap, there's a campsite, with great pool, day visits include use of pool, sun beds/shade and the main course from the lunch menu plus half litre of wine for 35 euros per couple. There's also a play area in the woods behind which include chalets with large play beds.

The site is couple only and nudist.

In the evening you can also have a three course meal, wine, floor show and entrance to the club L'extasia all for 75 euros per couple.

In our opinion, L'extasia is the best club in the Cap area.

Update: Sorry but completely wrong to say that the owner of a Cap club was murdered, apparently he is very much alive so would imagine that this club will be open as usual this summer.

We are off to Cap in July for our second visit. We had a weekend there last September for a taster. This time we would like to explore a bit more!

Would be keen to know the following: -

1. Whats the difference between Glamour & Tantra? Which one would suit what type of couple?

2. Was thinking of doing Karma Sutra one day. Would this be advisable? Is it any good? Or are there other alternatives?

Thanks

x

Lol....thank goodness he's alive and kicking... and obviously good as hopefully the Club will be open

To answer question above depends on what you like (I could compare to UK clubs but you may not know them?)

Tantra is smaller and in our opinion friendlier and more chance to be exhibitionist/chat to people. Glamour much bigger, proper night club loud music with heaving dance floor....play rooms quite Warren like at Glamour, less so at Tantra. Xx

Under Waikiki is Le Jules club. Can be a bit hit and miss, no private rooms.

Glamour is for posers and dancers.

Tantra is for full on swingers, whether it be couples only or mixing it with the single guys.

This year will be our 10th yer at Cap. We've been in Glamour twice and Tantra, hold on, where's my calculator.

Tantra is very single guy friendly (at a price of course) Glamour allows them but is selective.

If you are taking a guy with you then we would recommend Tantra. It has plenty of mixed areas and you can even take a male guest into the couples area upstairs.

We like Kamasutra.

Chill around the pool with a bottle of wine, go for a swim (Temperature permitting) then when you fancy some fun just go downstairs. You need to be up for single guys though, it can get into gang bang territory very quickly.

True to a certain extent in that the single guys remain respectful and only join in when invited

For our part we feel Tantra has gone gretaly downhill over the last few years - all tables upstairs constantly reserved for the owner's hangers-on. Single fellas allowed in if they know the door staff and a general feeling of being ripped off. 2x2 far better as is, to be fair, Le Jules which on its night can be awesome. Kamasutra a super spot during the day also.
