We are considering a holiday at Cap d'Agde this summer. We're keen to have a glamping style holiday where we can meet couples for sexy outdoor fun in the sun.

When would be the best time to go and where would be a good place to stay? Thanks in advance for your advice.

If by glamping you mean in a posh tent then you only have one option, which is Rene Oltra campsite in the middle of the naturist village.

And yes they do rent out posh camping pods or even chalets.

Time of year is entirely up to yourselves, but you'll find a lot of Brits there last week June & first week July. Also last week Aug & first week Sept.

Don't know if you consider that an advantage.

Yes, we were thinking about a posh tent or chalet so that sounds promising. If it's in the middle of the naturist village though, is it swinger friendly or would we have to save the sex for behind closed doors?

We don't want to have to "behave" so if we can't play at the campsite, are there any suggestions for where to stay and play?

We are thinking about June or July so that would be perfect. We don't speak French so having Brits around would actually be preferred.

You have to be very discreet if you want to play in the campsite, this is where you will find the pure naturists and also in June you will find families with very young children.

There is also a second layer of security on the campsite (in addition to the barriers at the entrance to the whole resort)

If any non campers want to accompany you to your place they will need to surrender their passport/car keys etc. at the entrance.

If you want a more uninhibited holiday the best place is an apartment in Port Nature.

Thanks for the that. We want to truly let our hair down while on holiday so we'll skip the campsite idea for now.

I had a look at Port Nature website and it looks very nice. I will see if they have any availability for June or July.

Thanks again.

'near that London'

Can I suggest you look at all of the accomadation within the village not just Port N . Maybe via an agency ? “Peng” are good. But beware, some of the apartments are v small and don’t have bedrooms, just sofa beds. Good luck

Firstly all the advice given above is good.

However I will clear up a few points.

Cap d'Agde naturist village is just that, a naturist village. Officially it is nothing more.

A lot of newbies have the misconception that you can have sex where and when you want, you can't.

With the exception of one section, and only that section, of the beach (where it is still illegal but a blind eye is turned) one way or another all sex is behind closed doors. Whether that be in one of the clubs, in your apartment, or at the well screened off foam and pool parties. Sex anywhere else in public carries a large fine (or worse). I don't know what they serve for breakfast at Beziers prison but give someone a blow job in one of the bars and I'm sure you will quickly find out.

As said above, Port Nature is a bit more tolerant, but not a lot. You will see people having small parties and get together's on their terraces and spilling out on to the walkways and, as we have seen over the years, a bit of light and discrete playing does go on, but bending your Mrs over the wall and giving her one from behind is a sure fire way to answer the breakfast question above.

Don't get me wrong you can still have a lot of fun at Cap.

For swinger action there is nowhere in the world that even comes close. The swinger section of the beach is unique in the whole world, and the foam and pool parties are the closest you will ever get to a Roman orgy in this day and age. There are great swinger clubs, sex sauna's, a fetish club, and even a sex cinema.

At night the ladies can (and do) wear their most revealing outfits and the atmosphere in bars such as the Melrose is the most erotic you will experience anywhere, but you really do have to stick to the rules.

Finally, the accommodation in Port Nature, as in all the other blocks, are all privately owned apartments so standards can vary considerably. Your next door neighbour could be in a magnificent recently upgraded palace, and you could be in a shit hole that hasn't bee updated since the 70's or vice versa.

It's nothing like say Spain where the apartments in a block are all identical.

Ask your agent for photo's and also ask when they were taken.

Probably a good idea.

Both are screened from the rest of the village and both are specifically for swingers (at a price of course)

Babylone is also the venue for the pool parties.

Excellent advice, one thing though, if you want the full-on Roman orgy and all experience in the gardens of Eden and Babylon, it comes at a price.

Expect to pay around 400 euros a night, and that doesn’t include breakfast!

You are right.. it’s not cheap but it now does include breakfast. To be fair, they have made a big effort at Babylone over the last few years. Last year AGN did a special offer where the accommodation price also included lunch and dinner at certain restaurants. Available in June it was pretty good value, which is not something you hear said a lot in the village!

"So how cheap can a visit to cap be if you want to get alot out of it we are poor "

Visiting the Cap last week of June/first week of July is a popular option since prices are mid season, lots of Brits come at this time.

Nowhere in the village is cheap for accommodation but one option is to find a place outside the village in the the Vanilla Cap D'Agde and come in via the barrier (about 8 euros entry per day if you do this)

Another cheap option is to camp in Marseillan Plage (outside the village) and then walk in along the beach (about a mile to the shops/bars/clubs. (no charge)

Probably the cheapest option but you then need to walk home along a dark beach after a night out.

However you will find that most people there will be considerably older than you, 40 plus and although there is some kink it's mainly focussed in Clair Obscur club (60 euros entry)

the cheapest option is probably the campsite. High season about €42 a night. Entrance to the village is something like €12 a week I think? Others will put me right.

Foam Party (a must) is €20 a couple plus drinks (expensive). Hope that helps.

"So how cheap can a visit to cap be if you want to get alot out of it we are poor "

For an apartment expect to pay around 700/800€ per week in mid season. That will usually be plus final cleaning charge and bed linen (unless you take your own) However if you are flying it is probably cheaper to rent the bedding than pay the luggage charge.

You can keep general living costs down by cooking in the apartment and going to the beach in the daytime rather than foam and pool parties, but you would miss a lot of the Cap experience by doing so.

Eating out can be expensive but there are a few cheaper options. Pizza Flora in Port Ambonne is good value as is the pizza and roast chicken place (Can't think of the name) opposite the entrance to Kamasutra Spa.

Drinks in the bars are on the expensive side but not horrifically so and Bodega bar in Port Ambonne is quite reasonable.

For a couple night club entry is anywhere from 20-50€ (a bit more in the fetish club) usually with a drink or two thrown in, but after that drinks are around a tenner a pop.

Sadly cheap and Cap d'Agde only appear in the same sentence when qualified by the word not.

Or....we got four five times a year because we can but we find the most cost effective time of year is the last Bank Holiday in May. The appartments are still rented out on Winter rates- even though it is end of May!!!!! It is a Bank Holiday weekend- so an extra day of fun. Flights with Ryanair are around 70 quid return pp and car hire about 18 euros a day. it is also a French Bank Holiday so enough people about and you can get into almost all the restaurants and bars. Only downside is weather can be a bit inclement but still miles better than the UK. Just our view on a cheap weekend in Cap. Any other time....dont expect to have a view of the sea when having liunch, expect to queue for the clubs and expect to pay over the odds for practically everything except the sex!!!!

there are lots of ways to reduce the cost of the holiday. we go late may last week june first july then aug bank hol to sept 14 ish.

we now have 3 holidays for the price our first one cost as we have learned more about the place.

we now have a caravan and its there all year in storage and towed to oltra when we need. all for a reasonable cost.

Just a quick tip for the foam parties.

If you drink white or rose wine it is much better to buy a bottle.

Order a glass and it is mostly ice where the bottle (albeit at 20€) comes in a bag of ice so you can add your own, but you still get the full bottle.
