From the other thread there seems to be quite a lot of interest in the social on 24th June at 9pm in the Bodega Bar.

Anyone who is in Cap at the time is more than welcome to attend and it would be nice if you could post your name on here.

Joy's restaurant in the Cap could be booked for the evening (maybe) if everybody stayed for the meal...... and the dance afterwards.

We know the owners, Joy and Norbert, and it's our regular watering place, especially during the cold winter months.

P.S, Joy's is a 'swinger restaurant' we love the place and the ambiance and it's not expensive.

We are thinking the same.

Also a sit down meal would probably be a bit too formal for a social.

Don't really think there is an organiser as such. It was just a suggestion on another thread so we thought we would give the idea a thread of its own.

We never expected it to be so popular, we were thinking if half a dozen turn up that would be fine.

We see it as more of an informal get together of all the Fabbers who are in the village at the time.

After saying that I suppose some kind of ice breaker would be handy (but we won't be handing out name badges

)

Plenty of time so we will try to think of something. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Odds are that most of the people in Bodega at that time on the Sunday night will be at the Fab social. So easiest way is just listen out for people speaking English and assume they are with the social. Then just speak up and ask them.

I'm pretty sure that most people there will have met at least some of the others before and they can introduce people together.

Don't sweat the small stuff, it will work out fine.

Yes I'm sure it will although I just had a spine chilling thought.

Anyway I've just checked and the evening game on the 24th is Poland v Columbia so I doubt that will cause much of a problem.

I had visions of France playing someone and the bar being full of French football fans.

We've thought of various ways of being recognised. Name badges, distinctive clothing, pink carnations, copy of the Times under left arm, Etc.

Anyway, over the next few days we will send our face pics to everyone on the list and will have some form of table decoration (don't know exactly what yet) on the night.

To be honest we never expected anything like 60 people turning up, we thought about a dozen at best.

So I think we will pretty much fill the place.

Also I think it would be a good idea if one of the Cap residents could pop in and let the owners know that they are going to have a busy night. It will give them a chance to maybe arrange extra staff Etc.

Not stayed there but have used the nearby Tennis Hotel a couple of times.

I wouldn't say impossible but it isn't a short walk to the village from there, although there is a bus service in the daytime.

Big problem could be late at night as taxi's are hard to find.

If you are not drinking and hire a car then you should be fine there.

It's a typical French hotel. I think it's 3* and is about 20 min walk to village.

its not that complicated to find out if somone is british just say hello.

we see it over and over people saying we "were in the bar but missed you" but if you sit silent and just people watch as lots do then no wonder.

you won't miss us just look up! (we are both over 6 ft lol

I would add that with over 60 Fabbers on the night we should make up around 90% of the customers.

Easy to find.

Bodega Bar is in Port Ambonne. Main entrance is almost opposite the sauna and the other side faces the pool.

This will be the last list update as we are on the road from tomorrow morning, but any last minute people just add your name to the bottom of the thread.

We will get there a bit before the start time and will have a FAB sign of some sort on our table. Judging by the numbers (36 couples and 4 single guys) it looks like it will be almost a full bar takeover so other Fabbers shouldn't be difficult to find.

Just say hello then mingle and most importantly have a great night.

In the Bodega bar if you try to do anything that does not conform to the conventional behaviour expected in a bar you will be kicked out instantly by security .

Someone I know tried to give a blow job to a friend and security rushed over to them immediately . They left so quickly they forgot to pay for their drinks.

Yes a very good night was had by all (well everyone we spoke to)

We tried to speak to every one but there were just so many people we probably missed a few.

However a huge thank you to everyone who turned up and the owner of the bar was more than happy. He couldn't stop kissing Mrs H LOL.
