Paris restaurant advice

Its been many years since I went to Paris. I am taking Jen in May. There used to be an awesome area to eat that had lots of kebab/grill restaurants. I think it was in St Michel, but my memory is rusty. Can anyone let me know if I'm remembering correctly?

It's a nice area but I can't remember seeing lots of grill restaurants but tbf I wasn't really looking for them

You'll be spoiled for choice anyway

In Saint Michel, true. But if I can recommend, it's very business oriented so the quality is not very good...

Honestly you won’t find it hard to find a good grill meat place in Paris. They are everywhere. I was once told per square metre Paris has the most restaurants than any other city. St Michel has many touristy bars and kebab places. Another area which is similar is the Latin quarter. Again another touristy area but both are good fun!

The area you describe is Montmartre. There are lots of romantic outdoor restaurants. Below the Mont is the red light district, Pigalle, with the famous Moulin Rouge and everything up to the sex cinemas.

If you want an upmarket restaurant, look at the tower La Lafette near the Eiffle tower, but get your mortgage first.

A Parisian recommended La Galette de Moulins to us in La Place du Tertre in Montmartre. We didn't make it there but she says it reasonably priced...for Paris

Agree, CHARTIER is a great restaurant and a must for a visit to Paris (metro- Grand Boulevards), good food, super ambiance and you can get a four course meal for 25euros or less.

It’s a French institution has to be tried just a short walk down the hill from Momartra and great value

Taverne du montmarte is amazing!

Small rustic and great value. We had to wait 1/2 hour+ for a table but it was so worth it and the onion soup is to die for!

There is a great swingers club along from the moulin rouge - reminded us a bit of Chams
