"Bombs? You mean old WW2 stuff or something newer?"

Don't think so, maybe a hoax but the whole section is closed from Sun Beach on.

A police boat and some cops wandering about looking bored.

It's a bomb 2m long and they intend detonating it tomorrow after further examination.

Approached from Marseillan Plage end around 1230. Scene as described above. Stayed on the edge of the textile beach till 7pm. Seemed a few frustrated but naked swingers did likewise alongside other naturists including some families, but play deterred by presence of three police one on horseback in dunes plus barriers and taped off area plus young children around. Spoke to one officer who indicated beach would be closed Saturday and may reopen Sunday.

Will return tomorrow and maybe see UXB team in action!

Interesting,

No offence intended!

We were on the Cap side of the fence until 7pm

Lots of swingers but very little play given the proximity of the family beach.

Very quiet and strange (although rather nice)

Friends remarked on the absence of single males (meercats) but now I realise that a lot come into the beach from the textile end (Marseillan Plage)

What a frustrating day for them !

Becky, stubbed toes are one problem walking over UXBs, but some of the bigger boys on the beach would need to be wary of losing other key organs!

Pmsl. If it is a bomb from ww2 it's been there 70 years ! There was a similar thing a few years ago it turned out to be a post under the sand. If it's a bomb for sure the army would be there.

Frogmen and army uniformed guys arrived around 11am. All declared safe around lunchtime and beach reopened. There is a 2m 'black shadow' visible around one of the marker buoys.

Guess all will return to normal by tomorrow.

Visiting friends at Oltra's today, didn't want to get blasted by the sand, so we gave the beach a miss.

But we did watch a slightly amusing incident as a couple of vans were leaving later in the day.

The second van was towing a RIB, when the van in front braked. The van towing also braked, but a bit sharpish as he saw it late. There followed a loud crashing as the RIB ploughed into the back of the van that was towing it.

Upon taking a closer look, it was obvious that the trailer wasn't attached properly to the tow ball and didn't want to stop. It was only secured to the van by the wiring loom.....!

Turns out that these were the guys who we're diving on the UXB on the beach.

Hope they're better at diving than attaching a trailer to a van....!

On a completely different topic, whilst driving through Marseillan on our way to Cap, we saw a flock of very large birds flying low over the village rooftops.

As we got closer, we realised that they were flamingos. We'd seen them flying before, but never in such large numbers. Quite majestic and we managed to get a few photos before they disappeared.

And then as we left the naturist village we saw a white Harley arrive. Nothing unusual in that of course, especially as it's bike week in Cap.

But this one was towing a caravan.....!!

Funny old day....
