I hear rumours that the well loved waiter from 1664 Jipe has sadly passed. Lovely chap who will be sorely missed.

Was he the waiter who was in his fifties and appeared to be in overall charge of the cafe .

We suspect the Jipe you heard is J P meaning Jean-Pierre, if its true that he's passed then it's a truly sad day. We sincerely hope its a misunderstanding. Best wishes to all.

Sorry It's definitely Jipe as he is certainly known on his Facebook page and not JP

If you want his real name drop me a line.

Sadly he has passed away as a result of the dreaded C
