"Hi sexy people. We are looking to make our first visit to Cap D'age next summer. Probably late June, early July. We would really like some advice on where it's best to stay... ie inside or outside? How to book etc. We'd rather self catering but it's not set in stone. Over to you......... Sal and Si xxx " Hi . I think that others have already answered your questions . Staying outside the gate has the advantage of being half the price of staying inside . However you miss out on the convenience factor and cannot just pop down to the beach or drop into the Sauna Club . Inside the gate is a much more enjoyable experience . If you are outside the gate , the last bus at night is around 9 pm and after that you will probably have a thirty minute walk . Another point is that if you strike lucky and need to entertain someone in your apartment it is not particularly practical if you have a long or inconvenient journey back to your apartment. A member of this forum has apartments to rent " We would agree with that. We have been going to Cap for seven years and always stayed inside for our main holiday. Yes it is a bit more expensive but for the convenience it is well worth the extra. In fact if you factor in the full cost for the village pass as opposed to the residents discounted rates, plus a few late night taxi's back to outside accommodation the gap narrows considerably.

"Thanks everyone for your advice and experience. We've booked for 1st 2 weeks in June, staying in a lively apartment inside the village in the Port Ambonne area x thinking of flying into beziers as it seems a lot closer than Montpellier x " Beziers is definitely a lot more convenient . A 30 euro taxi ride gets you to the village or two bus rides . From Montpelier it is a tram , a bus , then train and a further bus journey .

"We flew into Montpelier because flying out of Gatwick was easier for us. We used a couple from fabs for the transfer to and from the airport and they dropped us right outside Oz inn which couldn't have been easier." Is it open at present as would like a place to chill for a few weeks?

"It's always open but at this time of year is like a ghost town. Gets busy for a few days over New Year though " Thanks for the info, do you recommend anywhere else in Europe that isn't a ghost town, as could do with getting a way for a few weeks lol

Probably the closest would be the Canaries. Written from a very rainy Torrevieja.
