Catthorpe

We will be there mid August.

Looking for great beaches, coves/secluded, things to do in the evening in town and best places to buy seafood to take back to our accomodation to cook. Shows/festivals are welcomed too, just about anything info wise would be massively appreciated,, we like to keep ourselves busy and there for 3 weeks.....Thank you in advance, guys .

"Oh dear! No one? "

You're asking a lot of information without, to be honest, any indication that you've done any investigation yourself. We've holidays in the area many times - the best things you can do are to check the Internet before you go then once out there collect the numerous free papers that give details of all local fetes etc.

It is a truly beautiful area - Barcelona is also only a short drive away.

Have fun !

We've looked online quite a lot and in fairness a lot of the info is sparce and sporadic, was hoping for first hand info from forumites. The local paper is interesting, even as non-basic French speakers we should be able to work out what's what.

Ah fantastic!

When we're back from work with a bit more time we'll definitely be in touch.

Thanks

it is just too vanilla in August around there - I'm not sure you will find a 'secluded cove ' - most of France will be there

Went there years ago (brilliant place) so I can't remember the best places to visit but check online for:

Office de Tourisme d'Argeles sur Mer. You will have info there.

If you go to the city centre and ask for l'office de tourisme, you will find brochures with local festival details etc...

Ps: Oú est l'Office de Tourisme s'il vous plait?

If my memory is good you have a great market in Colluire but you do in most french places on a saturday and/or Sunday morning.

Sorry can't be more specific than that.

Google is your friend

I'm heading there cycling 13th August after a week in the alps I'll be looking forward to chilling out a little. Colloures gets very busy - avoid the roads on saturdays if you can whole area gets crazy busy as its change over day.
