I am at my holidayvhome in the medoc, north of bordeaux, there is a 12,000 hectare forest fire raging in cap feret where 63,000 people have been evacuated.

There are 2 ferries off the peninsula of which there are 3 forest fires near the southern ferry..

Anybody else being affected by forest fires in france

I’ve seen this on the news. It looks awful. Hope you and your home are ok.

Just an update on the cap feret fire.. they seem to have stabilised the fire at 44,000 hectares.. there are niw 3,300 firemen on site with 2,200 gendarmes in attendance with over 200,000 people evacuated from the area..

Apparently it's the worst fire since WW2. The smoke is smell able from over 250km away..

But that said, providing the wind and weather stay the same it shouldn't get any worse..
