Bodega Bar

Cap d’Agde, France

Bodega is our bar of choice but having been there 3 times this week we’ve seen how increasingly grotty it’s become.

The place is a goldmine for the owners but they hardly spend a penny on it.

Last night one toilet was out of action so everyone used the ladies which ended up swimming in piss.

The Electrics are a nightmare with exposed leads hanging from the ceiling most of which hasn’t been touched for 50 years.

Love the place even with the repetitive music but it’s really become the epitome of grime.

Great fun bar but yes the toilets are a joke. They let the place down.

'near that London'

We do love it , but its always been, errr how can we put it …a bit basic …but the toilet snafu you describe is not on !!! Looks like we will just have to start to use it as a meeting point before moving onto impromptu apartment parties at ours now you haven’t got so far to walk home LOL …

Is there a decent toilet in any of the bars or restaurants??

All seem a bit grim !

But agree that bodega probably is the worst !

Walked past it the other night and it was half empty whereas everywhere else was buzzing with partygoers.

Think some folks are starting to vote with their feet.

We went there last night whilst waiting for the Crystal to open. The toilets were out of service so had to use the one in the restaurant next door - not really a problem. The music however is why we left, you can only take so many historic French anthems ! The Crystal against our expectations was actually quite good.

On Tuesday about midnight the queue for the Crystal was out of the door and all along the Pilouterie bar, there must have 15-20 couples waiting to enter.

Not been since it used to be called Jeux des Mains and then it was a bit of a ‘dive’

And yes the music in Bodega is very repetitive. The DJ always uses the same playlist and his comments sometime are crude and offensive.

Ah yes, the DJ... Last night he called a group of women 'les boudins de Paris' ie Parisian fat sausages. Later he addressed the public as 'bande de connards, voyez ceux que je suis obligé à supporter' which politely means group of tossers, look what I have to put up with. My wife, Manue wasn't impressed !

Nobody press gangs you to go in

And some people MAY like what MIGHT be sarcastic humour

Like tv

If you don’t like something don’t watch it if you don’t like the place don’t go in

It’s a shit hole and has been for years

But

It’s a busy shit hole

Ha, yes, you're right. To put it in perspective, his comments are made in good humour. Also, the staff are nice, prices are reasonable, you can almost always find somewhere to sit and if you get too hot you can jump in the pool so there are good reasons why we go there every year.

I love it. Nice staff. Friendly atmosphere. Doesn’t pretend to be anything glamorous

Friendly, not glam and a bit worn out. Just like me 😳
