there is one camp site in naturist village and you would need to book early January as it gets really busy.

That's the one.

The other swingers campsite is Terre de Soleil, which is lovely, but a 15 minute drive away.

Sorry, to correct myself, Rene Oltra is nudist and not swingers.

Though who knows what happens behind closed doors...

We drove from Cherbourg to Cap D'Agde in our motorhome and stayed in René Oltra. Stopped in Mt St Michel, Bordeaux then to Cap D'Agde. The drive was LONG but worth it once you arrived. The beach is on your doorstep and you're minutes away from the Swinging scene. We didn't want to leave and kept extending our time there so would recommend trying to stay longer if you have to drive both ways also we used our bikes/segways there so if you have space would recommend to bring something like that to get around the sites

Thank you for the usegul advice - If I go at eater I could have longer there but believe it is quiet at Easter but thinking it would be a good opportunity to get my bearings for future visits

I'm not sure it would be a great idea to go early to "get your bearings". The place feels so utterly different when it's crowded to when most things are closed, that you probably wouldn't learn a lot of useful things.

But if you enjoy the quiet, then why not? Is the campsite actually open at easter?

Of course it’s open. 15th March is the opening date, as usual. 2026 Good Friday is 3rd April.

Hi All just dropping onto this thread. I’m travelling through France early June (on motorbike) and into Spain but wanted to stay at cap for 2-3 days but the exact date is not confirmed yet. Noticed the comments about booking early but assume there are campsites slightly out of town I could just descend on when passing through ? My route and stops elsewhere in France are quite fluid so booking in advance would be tricky. Is it a non starter if I don’t book well in advance? I don’t mind a ride into the resort each day

There are plenty of campsites open that time of year. Just be aware of the rules which apply to single guys going into the village.
