Cap d Agde club clothing question

Hi

We are planning our first visit to Cap this July, staying in Terre de Soliel a swing friendly campsite a few miles away. Anyway we've heard the French clubs can be a bit strict on the male dress code?!

Mr usually wears smart fitted shorts and a collared shirt and smart trainers/shoes when out when abroad, would this be acceptable as we've heard trousers are only permitted? Are smart jeans ok like in UK clubs.

Any advice appreciated x

Totally agree. Shorts will not be acceptable. In the evenings dark jeans / trousers with a clean shirt (!) are the safest bet.

Some clubs (Glamour especially) have strict codes for both men amd women. We have seen both turned away (they insist on heel still, I think, for women!!). Generally smart-casual will work for men in most clubs. Or just go to the spa (Histoires d'O) it's excellent and no clothes needed... as well asnthe famous foam party at Le Glamour Beach.

Cap d’Agde, France

One very beautiful friend of ours turned up in flip flops, rather than turn her away they lent her a pair of heels to enter/pay and then once inside she put back on her flip flops!

Lots of the clubs won't admit ladies wearing trousers.

Again not a problem. It's more the male dress that's a bit strange imo. Smart shorts in hot weather is usual. Obviously not in cap

We've seen ladies being turned away for wearing too much clothes.

I’ve always worn a nice shirt and chinos. I was turned away once wearing Toms so had to run back to the room to get proper shoes so that probably a warning too.

This kind of annoyed us in Cap, your in a nudist village that your paying to access, with its own set of nudist rules within the village, and then you get clubs refusing you for being naked.

We've been twice and managed to spend pretty much the entire time naked, clubs that required us to wear clothes we just didn't bother with. There's plenty of them around the world where you have to be clothed. Just think it's lost a lot of the liberal nudist ideas.

I've been turned away loads for not having heels, or big enough heels.

And that's tantra as well as glamour

I can’t do heels. Tantra hired me a pair which I hobbled round in for the evening! (But I had gone in Birkenstock type of footwear.)Was fine when I had my sparkly open toe flats on though.

You should get in wearing that, but as always at Cap it is unpredictable!

Tantra is our favourite club at Cap, never had a bad night there, but everyone has their own opinions and experiences.

When you go in, go straight up the spiral stairs and through the single guy area into the couples section. If you want a single guy you can go back into the singles part or you can bring him into the couples area.

The downstairs area you need to be a confident couple and not be afraid to assert your preferences.

Having said that, it's a very safe club, with hyper vigilant and very pro active security everywhere.

We were in Tantra on Tuesday and had a blast. Yes, there is a dress code and it is strict. Long trousers and shoes for men and heels for ladies.

Tantra is a super clean club and well managed. Upstairs has a good vibe although there is still smoking going on inside the club, which can be annoying, as this was meant to have changed in law. For us, it is a couples club that you would go together with other couples or arrange to meet there.

No shorts, no trainers, all black trainer would work though. No jeans, unless the club is not full they may relax this, but usually if going in as a couple and you dress smartly, you should have no problem just dont look like a chav. Be and look like someone you would want to fxxk.

The trousers annoy me as much as the smoking, prob more so, since your paying to be in a nudist village and follow the nudist rules, have the club outside the village if you want people in clothes. But unfortunately they all seem to be going like that and less people sticking to the rules on their nudist card they get.

We never got a card with rules on any of the times we went. Maybe it's just a campsite thing?

The most important item is your ear plugs. The clubs can be very loud! The Sauna is ok however.

I saw a couple refused at Tantra last night, both too casual - she was in denim shorts and sandals, he was in knee length shorts and beach-style shoes. That said there were plenty of guys in "casual shoes" - I'd have called lots of them smart trainers - rather than dress shoes, but maybe they're a bit more relaxed on quieter nights.

I've never had a problem getting in wearing a decent (collared, button-up) shirt and smart (dark) jeans with smart shoes.

Of course if they don’t follow the dress code, they won’t get in.

I’ve even seen people try to get into one of Oz’inn’s rooftop parties and got denied because they had sandals and shorts on
