I don’t know if you have particular ties to Agen but we have a place of the side of a hill near St-Antonin-Noble-Val, about an hour or so East of Agen. Lovely wooded hills, vineyards, Bastide villages and castles with a pleasant resident and holiday home Brit community if you want it

Hoping to be there June, August and October

Cap d’Agde, France

"Hi, We are moving to SW France in the near future, just wondered if there were many on Fabs who live that way . Agen ish x "

We’ve lived in France 9 years and ‘fabbers’ are few and far between but ‘libertines’ are everywhere, there are 3-4 times as many clubs here as in the UK.

Living in the Cap d’Agde area we see plenty, from now until September, but the winter months are very quiet and Fabsters are just too far spread out.

We’d be interested to know your definition of a Libertine as opposed to a fabber?

Bergerac, France

From our experience, Fab members are few and far between in the winter months. That obviously changes when Cap visitors arrive.

Libertines get everywhere..!!!

But very few libertine French nationals are on Fab.

We consider fabbers as this is FABs site to all be libertines in this wonderful world we play in

So the same unless we get corrected ? Xx

We live on the coast near St Tropez (pretentious, moi?) but have a boat moored on the Canal du Midi at Capestang, so not too far from you all.

But “Brit community if you want it” is exactly what we DON’T like about Capestang. We were there this weekend, and a nice evening drink in the village square was spoilt by a table of four local Brits at the next table. Middle-aged or older, should have known better, each louder and more foul-mouthed than the other. I didn’t fucking know that you could fucking put so many fucking fuckings in one fucking sentence. Embarrassing or what?

Good luck with moving, Carte de Séjour etc...

Any of us can end up sitting next to idiots when out but you choose who you socialise and make friends with

Our point was there are some Brits around if you look, or you can learn French or live like a hermit, it’s freedom of choice

With Eve being French we tend to chuckle at tables of people such as yours and we call them the rah rah rahs because of the volume of their conversation bless them.

Looking forward to summer and the influx of rah rah rahs.

Good luck with your move.

We often talk about buying somewhere, but can't decide between somewhere in a village near the shops and restaurants, or somewhere with a private pool that isn't overlooked.

Our budget doesn't stretch to somewhere with both.

“can't decide between somewhere in a village near the shops and restaurants, or somewhere with a private pool that isn't overlooked”

Don’t wanna come across as a party-pooper, but if you decide to move to France permanently (and why not?) or even spend a good deal of time here, take into consideration the proximity and accessibility of doctors, hospitals etc. Let’s be honest about this, we’re all young-at-heart and horny, but none of us spring chickens...

Health care in France is exemplary, especially in our case since we’re near enough to Toulon to be able to take advantage of its Hôpital d’Instruction des Armées Sainte-Anne (the French really look after their soldiers and their hospitals are the best in France).

Having had a very serious accident 4 years ago and being in a coma for 9 days presumed dead, I can confer that the french health care system is brilliant, the legal system on the other hand is a pile of shite

Cap d’Agde, France

Got my siblings staying with us in our Cap home at the moment.

Plenty of discussions on differences between the UK and France.

It seems with every item from standing charges, restaurants, health system and even care home charges we are infinitely better off in France (not to mention the weather)

Only cost of food and some taxes seem worse.

Don’t be silly and Stop Crying Your Heart Out, D’you Know What I Mean…?

Rouen and Angers are Half a World Away. You’d have to be Supersonic.

Just go All Around The World, or Whatever.

Go Slide Away with some Cigarettes and Alcohol.

And if you’re going to Cap, you’ll always get some Morning Glory…
