Côte d'Azur & Great Yarmouth |
As I’m typing this, I’m actually on our balcony drinking coffee and looking out to the islands: beautiful day, sea calm, cruise ship on the horizon, you don’t have to be a millionaire to live like a millionaire… But, funnily enough, Levant is the only island we haven’t visited. Two-thirds of it is military, and there’s apparently not much to do unless you’re a naturist (which we aren’t). Our neighbour is, when her friend visits they don’t pay the ferry to Héliopolis but often go to Le Layet, the naturist beach just along the coast from us. They’ve noticed that couples do on occasion pair up and “drift off” to the rocky part of the beach, they themselves are not swingers as such but have allowed - I’m sure “encouraged” but they both deny it - a guy to masturbate over them while they pretended to be asleep.
We live on a pretty quiet part of the coast, mostly second residences and villas. Permanent population of less than 800, swells to 10,000 (yes, ten thousand!) in August, which we obviously tend to avoid…
As for swinging, it’s more a case of socialising (parties, dining out etc.) until one finds like-minded people Otherwise, there are clubs, but quite far from us, very expensive and, to be honest not our thing. We’ve attended a few parties in the UK but, although we were made very welcome, it all seemed cliquey and a little forced (“Hello Jim, I went with Julie last time, tonight my missus is pairing up with Joe”). There are French “Fab” type sites, one in particular has quite a few advertisers local to us.
But, as you see, quite reasonable French is necessary… |
