"First time in a while, going to Dieppe, then Poitiers 2 nights over to Lyon. Any tips/advice on headlight deflectors, high Viz etc etc" Lights should be fine providing your car is modern... High Viz jackets for every person travelling which are accessible, warning triangle... Crit air (as has been mentioned) for Lyon and other cities of applicable...

" Lights should be fine providing your car is modern... " Do you have a source for this? UK headlamps shine to the left, EU ones shine to the right. Headlamp adapters are needed on MOST cars, apart from those that have the facility to change the angle of the beam either electronically or mechanically within the headlamp. My Jaguar X-Type for example used to have a lever on the back of the headlamps to flatten bthe beam. My (more modern) Peugeot 607 and BWM 520 still need them. Otherwise the headlamps will shine to the left and dazzle oncoming drivers. A large number of UK vehicles I've seen here don't seem to bother, nor do many EU-registered ones in the UK (how often have you been dazzled by a left hand drive Eastern European truck coming the other way...?), but that doesn't mean they're not needed.

" No I don't have a source so could be incorrect. I actually had not thought this properly - I am thinking more of modern motorcycles which shine down rather than left or right. Deflectors will therefore be required as per your post.
