Hi!

We are failing to secure a car rental from Carcassonne Airport to Cap D'agde on 17th June @ 18.30...returning 20th June at 16.00. Transfers are quoting €600

Can anyone help or advise us with alternative car hire or a more reasonable transfers?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Cap d’Agde, France

Yes, things are getting silly this year.

We have booked our annual holiday to Ireland this September, last year we paid 500 euros for 3 weeks car hire, in 2019 it was 350, this year they are quoting 1500 euros for three weeks. !!

Anyway, to answer your question.

Take a taxi from the airport to Carcassonne train station (10 minute ride)

Book a train to Agde online using OMIO, (you'll probably have to change in Narbonne)

From Agde get the No. 4 bus outside the station which will drop you off outside the Naturist village. (or a taxi for the 3 mile ride)

A bit long winded and time consuming but you will save buckets of cash which you can spend in the village.

Alternatively, see if anyone else in travelling on your plane and share a taxi (its a 1hr 15min journey by road)

Thank you for the information Lucianpound.

In your trip to Ireland in September, book your car hire in Newry(part of Northern Ireland/UK). You should get the equivalent car for £300-£500.
