We are considering a trip the Cap d’Agde this year but the accommodation prices in the naturist village are double that outside. I’ve seen mention of passes, is that definitely a thing and do they allow access to all the bars, clubs etc.

You can buy a day/week pass at the gate to the naturist village.

That gets you access to all the village, bars and clubs etc.

You have to get in and out the village and that may be a pain in the early hours after a club visit. Taxis are non existent at that hour.

Cap accommodation ain’t cheap..!!

The weekly pass works out far cheaper than getting accommodation inside the village. We go June. Cheaper but still busy ( pre Covid). Hoping it will be back fun this year

The pass simple lets you into the village . You can then access all the bars and clubs.

You are correct to state that accommodation is about half the price outside the village. All the fun in Cap comes at a high price.

A few points to consider .

Whilst accommodation might be a lot cheaper outside the gate there is non such thing as a taxi rank in the village. Car hire may be £200 for a week unless you are driving to Cap.

You could walk back to your accommodation but 30 minute walk at 2 am may not appeal to everyone.

Yes, accommodation inside is more expensive, but you can bring friends over, walk around naked, do your shopping naked, etc. I like that convenience. I am going again this year. Hoping my usual companion can join me. If not I will have to find somebody to go with. It's been too long without trip to Cap in my calendar.

Cap is amazing, it is for sure worth stumping up the cash for an amazing time.

As someone has said, if you are outside, it is a pain. There is a campsite, but no AC could be a deal breaker. I stayed once on a boat in the harbour inside the NV, but there was no AC and it wasn't easy.

There are usually some reasonable deals on Airbnb,

The inside/outside the village debate has rumbled on for years on here.

Yes the prices inside the village are much more expensive than outside, but there are a few other things to consider.

Firstly your outside accommodation could be a very long way from the village, and as others have pointed out taxi's are almost non existent at night. They are not exactly common in the daytime either.

Secondly you will have to buy a village pass whether you are staying inside or outside. However it comes at a heavily discounted rate if you are staying inside (remember to have your rental contract with you when you go to the office) Some agents can pre arrange this for you.

Lastly, and for us at least most importantly, you really only get the buzz of the place if you are staying inside.

For our regular fortnight we always stayed inside, but when we have popped in for an extra couple of days on our way down to Spain we have stayed outside. It just isn't the same, we felt almost semi detached.

Apart from the bars, clubs, and sex we like the freedom of walking naked around the place. My naked walk around the village then calling at the bakery for a baguette is a daily early morning ritual.

It just isn't the same stripping off next to the car before starting the day. And if you use public transport you can end up carting you gear around with you all day. Then you have to get changed for the evening.

It really is too much like hard work.

We have been to Cap 14 times over 10 years and would strongly recommend that you bite the bullet on price and stay inside.

Loads cheaper and if fancy day in town or bike ride then go in village later or hire a cycle.

We’ve been going out ver 15 years and always stay in the village, apart from all the points made about convenience, the main point about going to Cap for us is to meet different people from all over the world. As much as you can get to know people at the beach and pool parties, the social interaction with neighbours has always been a major buzz for us and leads to balcony parties and making some great friends .. you don’t get that outside the resort

We stayed outside village first time we went. It was a fact finding mission. It didn't take long to realise we wanted to be in the Village 24/7. Rightly pointed out Taxi's are a pain and expensive. The thing we found about the village is,even staying in it on our second visit,is that it takes alot of exploring.

Still haven't scratched the surface.

It is expensive to stay in but we personally think it is worth it.

just outside would be a good option if you were going as a single male as I wouldn't waste your money. Like everywhere it's a tough gig for a single bloke in our opinion.

We have done both - our first trip to Cap, we stayed outside Village and visited only during the evenings. Our second time there, we stayed inside (at Jardin d’Eden for what it’s worth). Quite different trips/experiences (although both amazingly good).

When staying outside, we only came in during the evening for dinner, drinks and bar hopping/clubbing. That made for quite late (and fun!) nights so next day was spent relaxing/recovering at ‘normal’ beach. Of course lots of people visit the naturists village during day; we just focused our visits on going out. We did save money on accommodation by staying outside but easily spent the savings on daily Village access fee, taxis, etc. To say nothing about the pain of traveling back and (depends where you stay in Cap though).

Completely ignoring where you stay, biggest advantage of staying inside is the feel, ambience, etc. You feel much more a part of community vs just being a day visitor. We are not full time nudists whilst in the village (nude at beach, pool but usually not whilst walking around, going to Spar) - but being around others who are does help to put you at ease (and let’s see what happens next trip!).

Other than the feel, other biggest advantage is flexibility. Staying inside, we didn’t feel need to plan the entire day/evening out (save for pool parties!). So didn’t have to plan for a day at beach - could go for an hour or two. Or decide to stay longer. Much easier to change plans when you can go back to hotel, room, campsite and grab whatever you need (or drop off whatever you don’t!), have a rest, etc. Not impossible to do if staying outside - there are storage lockers for day visitors, or can carry a backpack. Just made for a more relaxed/enjoyable time (especially for people like us who try to plan/prepare for everything).

Other the cost, one benefit of staying outside the village (especially if it is your first trip) is that you ease your way in. We were a bit nervous our first time as we had never been to a naturist village. So staying outside did help (but we quickly got comfortable!). So if you are at all apprehensive/nervous, staying outside may be something to consider.

Has all the shops you need in easy walking distance. Lots of good ones selling precooked food. A bit pricey, but they really only open a few weeks a year.

All the bars and restaurants are on site and all the village beaches are nude.

RESID and AGN agencies have online catalogues (AGN one is quite erotic). We have used both and find them very reasonable.

I go regularly in September. Up to about the end of the third week in Septembe most places are still open. If you are only going for three days there will be more than sufficient bars and clubs open to keep you amused . If possible try and book a seven night stay - it will give you a lot more time to enjoy the area . If you are a first time visitor, avoid the last week in September.

Usually they won't let you drive in, especially during high season as there are already so many cars. There is a car park outside a short walk away, but it is worth getting a studio inside, it makes a big difference imho

We have lived outside the village for over six years and have an annual pass.

We drive there 2-5 times per week during the summer, daytime for the beach, evenings for entertainment.

Never ever had a problem driving in and have only ever struggled to get a parking spot during high season bank holidays ( but always managed eventually.)

They are part of the village but have their own security so you can only go in as a guest of a resident or on those occasional days when they have public pool parties.

Another advice for male first timers is don’t forget to regularly lather your cock with a considerable layer of sunblock. That skin is super sensitive and has probably never been exposed to the sunshine of Cap. Also it will be exposed to lots of chlorine, sea water, condom lubricant, saliva and the industrial detergent of the foam parties. So take good care of it with an adequate pH neutral moisturizer at the end of each day.

As the posts mention you can get a pass, and there are plenty if car parking spaces.

Our recommendation is to stay inside the village. It is more expensive however you get the full experience that you can only get when you immerse yourself in the village life

You pay to enter each club. The prices are a bit dear. Not sure you can book in advance, I never did. Clubs do have a dress code, Le Glamour and Le Juls will expect smart club wear, trousers for men; Le CLAIR OBSCUR is an SM club so if you are into that kind of fun, you know how to dress. The others are less strict. The foam party is all naked... as is 2 etc 2, which is a spa not club. The hidden gem of Cap is located a few km outside of Cap... l'Extasia is something that ought not to be missed... don't miss the forest fun area and the sex stage upstairs...

Just turn up, the main couples clubs are tantra, glamour, le manns or BDSM. These are open from 10.30pm till 5am. They get busy from half twelve onwards. There are also several bars for drinks and dancing.

Does the day pass cover us for the evening?

The day pass means you can stay within the village that day but NOT if you leave the exit barrier. The entry card will stop working at 8pm.

Odd question given it is a nudist resort, but is there a dress code?

In an evening if you are clubbing guys wear trousers/jeans shirts/Tshirts (reasonably smart) ladies wear anything or nothing - sexy as you dare. There are several erotic clothing shops in the village! Ladies cannot wear shorts or trousers in clubs and you will be refused entry.

Which clubs are recommended for our age group and first timers to the resort? Le Glamour would be your best place to start, but you will probably meet others on your first day so don't plan to far ahead.

Remember everything in Cap is expensive but if you want the lifestyle you have to pay for it.

I am sure you will be invited to some private parties etc.

There is an alternative to the expensive hotels and flats... Find someone, who has their caravan there in the storage and may rent it... It will cost you arround 700€ per week with pitch rental. For a change you will be in the campsite, which is just on the best beach in all over the world....

We actualy looking for someone who we can rent caravan from as no really want to tow ours for 7 nights... Alternatively we will come with tent.

We will be there 1st week in July, been a number of times before and can verify that it is a very different experience to PDI, in a positive way. We always stay inside the village for the many reasons already pointed out. It can be expensive but it’s a price worth paying for a very unique experience and atmosphere. Remember to budget for around £1k spending money once inside the village and thats not being too extravagant. We love it xx

Single, straight guy from London here. I’ll be in Cap d’Agde for the first week of August, for what will be my 3rd visit to this absolutely amazing place. For my first two visits (June 2017 and July 2018) I stayed outside the naturist village, at hotels in the nearby town of Agde.

I’d 100% agree with those in this forum who have advised that it’s definitely best to stump up the extra cash to stay inside the naturist village itself. This is what I’ll be doing this time around - in a Port Nature apartment.

Though the accommodation is way cheaper outside the naturist village, you’re indeed then faced with hiring a car or with having to get taxis to & from the naturist village, which can be a hassle - particularly late at night after you’ve perhaps been partying/shagging in the naturist village. I found myself pretty stranded more than once! For my 2nd time in Cap I decided to rent a bicycle for a few days, but riding a bike for a few miles along often quiet, dark roads back to my hotel wasn’t always fun.

And yes it’s all the extra planning too (for example in terms of carrying your clothes, towels etc) if you opt to stay outside of the village. Yes it’s true that there are a small number of lockers available near the entrance to the village for a small fee, but when I was there many of these lockers actually didn’t work, or were already taken.

Far better to shell out the extra cash for accommodation in the village, imho. Just way more convenient. Plus, as a single guy, it just makes more sense to be right slap bang in the thick of the action! For example, lots of couples staying in the apartment blocks throw naughty and impromptu “room parties” and are open to inviting in random males who they like the look of.

But security officers in the village check people’s ID and immediately eject anyone walking along the corridors of apartments (scoping for naughty opportunities) if they aren’t renting an apartment there.

For this and the other reasons stated above it was a no-brainier for me to splash out for my village apartment for early August, and I can barely wait!
