The edge of town

Hi folks, we're planning to spend a few months in France next year. Can anyone point us in the direction of a good agency to find us a house to rent in France?

We'd like to be around the La Rochelle area but it's not a deal breaker.

Thanks.

H&G

Try Chez Nous. We've used them a few times. Lots of owners offer substantial discounts for long stays.

Hi H and G

Chez nous are ok but can be on the pricey side as they have to give commission to chez nous.

If your french is up to it, try the local Marie, or get a cheap hotel for a week and look on the local supermarkets notice board. You often find stuff there.

I'd also try Royan, same dept. Just I think maybe more places to rent.

Thanks for the replies folks. We had a quick look on Chez Nous and there's a lot to look through there.

Good idea on the local Marie, our French wouldn't be up to that level yet but we can find a way around that.

We want to avoid hotels etc as we'll have our 2 dogs with us.

Thanks to all who offered advice & tips. We found a place a little further than planned but looks like ideal.

Also LA Rochelle is a very nice area, try to come a bit earlier than parisian (prices tend to increase when Parisian are coming)

Thanks, we have a place booked for 2 months late next year. Let's hope travel restrictions have eased by then.
