"Just hope we don't have to quarantine when we return to the uk in August "

Yes, that may be rather a problem, including the 14 day quarantine on arrival in France.

Hopefully by September this silly tit for tat quarantine will be a distant memory!

Great news though....

The problem for a few people will be that as Rene Oltra is now open Rene will expect the customers to honour their contract. IE pay up no matter if you can get there or not.

So if you were from UK and booked into Rene last week of June then if you go you risk the before and after quarantine. Or you decide not to go, but probably have to pay Rene the full cost of the holiday depending on when Rene's cancellation cut off is.

I was under the impression that the quarantine for those visiting France from the UK was optional.

It is the UK that has the mandatory 14 day quarantine but, that may change as well - like everything else.

Limousin, France

The borders are still closed so there won't be any UK visitors until they re-open, unless they are French resident

"Pan France travel is only allowed for French nationals. "

Not quite correct. French Residents, and EU countries that don’t have a separate quarantine restriction.

Really appreciate the local updates - thank you so much.

We’re booked for the August bank holiday weekend and keeping fingers tightly crossed that there’s progress before then.

Thanks again, stay safe and keep the updates coming!

Where on earth would you find a small motorised vessel in and around Dover?

When the beaches open, do you think the French can stay 2m apart. If you have been to

cap d'agde you will understand.

1 metre here in a France. But, the French have had to learn to queue during the lockdown, something we never thought they would understand!

We were due to stay at Rene Oltra from 25th June but with our flights cancelled the Cap holiday is sadly off for us this year Contacted Rene Oltra yesterday to look at our options and this morning we were emailed a credit note to the value of our deposit, which we can used up to October 2021. With the following statement "Within the 18-month time limit set by the Government, and if the credit note has not been used, you will be able to claim your refund".

I'm just hoping the day will come when the French learn social distancing when driving their cars.

Can you imagine doing 120 kmh on the autoroute and the car behind is only two metres from your rear bumper...?

That would be a vast improvement...

I am spending the next 6 weeks camping and cycling round France. I'll be on my own this time though...does Rene Oltra allow single males to camp (tent)?
