Messages Disappeared

We were messaging a person and now not only has their profile disappeared (which I understand) but all of the sent and received messages between us have gone too!? Is this a thing?

I don’t think so ..... i had a nice chat with a lady and She promised to come back to me but after 2 days i try to see her profile again and looks like Im blocked but i still have her message.

The only thing Im asking now... Why did She blocked me?
