"Hola! Ok - so I know this may be in the wrong section - but we all know hardly anyone will see it if I put it elsewhere! So - I was the last to post (hurrah) on a thread about hot lists - and finding out if you’re on someone’s. Whilst that’s flattering - we all know it means far more if the appreciation is mutual. Sooooo - even if it were a ‘fab option’ and meant a slight increase in fees - wouldn’t it be great if we received an alert when two people/couples hotlist each other? Similar to the way many dating apps work? You could still message anyone (as long as they’ve not blocked your age/sex/you personally etc - but with the hotlist alert you’d know you were messaging someone who’s at least potentially interested. For guys it would hopefully cut down on the amount of ‘junk mail’ you send out - and for the very popular single females out there - you could maybe just mostly open the alerts/messages of people of interest. I know it may take a fair bit of programming/updating of the site - but I think it would be invaluable to those of us who actually meet - particularly the large percentage of fab who are non forumites and therefore don’t communicate on the forums. Hugs Peachy The deafening silence would just be even more depressing " Ok - so let’s put a positive slant on this! If you find - after a period of time - that none of the people you’re attracted to are attracted to you - you could take a look at your profile and see if you can think of ways to make it more desirable to the people you aspire to meet! That might be in the form of more or different public pictures (or any at all in your case) - or a tweak of profile text. It may mean that you need to broaden your horizons when it comes to your ‘type’ or - worst case scenario - decide to use fab in a different way (socials/the forums/chat rooms etc) rather than focusing lots of attention on trying to get meets or - very worst case scenario - deciding whether fab is right for you at all! Either way I think this would be a positive move.

" As do I - but even if they do the same - wouldn’t it be nice to know? If you’ve hotlisted someone because you really dislike them and want to privately stalk them (and by now we all know this happens) - then you simply chose not to act on an alert if it comes up. It would simply be an alert - fab wouldn’t message them on your behalf.

"what's the end result of this ? If you want to contact someone then send a message . " But a lot don’t - particularly ladies. Also - guys know they’d be messaging someone who might actually reply - so they’d know to put more effort into that message! It’d also be very useful for couples looking for single females - which can also be difficult judging by the numerous threads I’ve seen!

"I could get on board with this, opt in, idea, it would be nice if it came with an added 'not so much' list otherwise I would have to opt out " Agreed! Though if we know the hotlist function worked in this way - we would only hotlist those of interest. There’d need to be another list for those we want to watch for other reasons - be they positive or negative! X

"So, tinder? " Not really. Tinder doesn’t have the forums, socials, chat rooms, swinging club info etc etc - unless I’m missing something? It would just be importing one of the good things about many dating apps - whilst still enabling the ability to message in general etc. Personally I think it would be particularly useful to single males, couples looking for other couples or single fems - and single fems who would normally lack the confidence to ‘cold message’ someone! Win win really!

"I think it's been suggested before Peachy. I think it would be a good feature, until you get an alert from someone who is on that hotlist for not being hot if you get me!" So we’d know only to use the hotlist for people we’re actually attracted to? There could be another list/grouping for people we just want to keep an eye on for other reasons.

"Winks are the most pointless things on here. I NEVER look at my winks and neither have I sent one in god knows how many years I’ve been here. It would be so useful for first approach messages because if you’re a match you’ll at least know before hand that they are slightly interested (handy for the men folk). " Absolutely! Even if they still want to send random ‘mail shots’ or ‘hi there’s’ - the ones with any intelligence/imagination would know to put more effort into the ones where there’s a mutual interest - as they’re far more likely to get a reply.

"We suggested it to Fab a while back, still think it is a really good idea. Personally, I use it for folks I fancy and who's new pics and updates I am interested in seeing, from an admiring perspective. For those using Hotlist for stalking type behaviour, I don't think that is what this site is designed for, so I have less sympathy, if it were implemented, for your usage being diminished.
