"Please can we have it so that if you have blocked a person, you don't have to see their comments or threads on the forum. I don't really care about if it would throw the context out on a thread by missing comments. Cheers " I second this motion......One Forumer blocked me for 'no reason' (as far as I know) never spoken to them at all, only noticed after reading their post and clicked their profile

"The forums are inclusive. It wouldn't work." I don't get why inclusivity is more important than personal choice though? Its like mind intrusion. I don't want to see it so it should be a simple thing as just being able to hide all content of the user.

"i think that the way some block on the basis of location or interests is very narrow minded and its good for them to see the personalities, blocking is a negative for sure and some deserve it but many get blocked for very trivial reasons so i for one dont agree with the Ops observations, long live the relative freedom of forums " I just think you should have a choice if you want to see someones comments and threads

That's not trivial and I would certainly welcome not seeing their posts or more importantly them not seeing mine

"One reason for not being able to block is, that people comment on messages they’ve received from people they have blocked, which is against forum rules. How would they know if someone was repeating the content of a message. It happens frequently on here." That's a risk I'd be willing to take to not have to deal with certain noxious individuals. It should be an option.

Surely it's an individual's choice to block. I see little difference between blocking and using filters which I'm sure you use. They are a method to stop others accessing you, blocking is just that. I see why you think blocking negative especially if you are blocked from something you desire, but it's a huge positive for the blocker who may not want you intruding. To think otherwise is just intrusive and ignorant at best. It would have no bearing on inclusivity as. You out it other than the one who has blocked. As I see it too many already use it to get around a block and play mind games. This would certainly reduce mods work on forums. There must be a lot of comment reports as a result. Goo suggestion OP and by others comments, quite easily doable.

"On other forums, it'd look like "(Blocked poster name) has posted. Toggle to view" That way you can look or not. It'd reduce the issues caused by people getting around blocks. Because yes, some users do use the forum to get around blocks, and unkindness or worse isn't picked up by moderators who don't know the back story." Just like in a Kik group. And it makes little difference to the chat.

As you said in a previous post , mods won't always know if it is banter or people being bitchy and dressing it up as banter. The toggle option would be great, because if someone said, "oh, good point Swing", the person could toggle to see that comment of mine, even if they usually hate the sight of me and everything I write.

"How are we to know that we've been blocked? Some threads get loads of responses very quickly, so in the time I've written a responce, someone that has me blocked posts above me Or the thread changes direction half way through (not uncommon) but the person changing the direction has me blocked! How often should I check to see if every poster has updated their block list? Also, if for example someone starts using the forum and isn't popular... Next time they log on to the forum they see very few threads? " You don't have to know ... you wouldn't be able to see their content and they wouldn't be able to see yours
