We understand that some people prefer privacy. However is it possible when a hidden profile is clicked that you are able to see basic information like:

1) Age

2) Preferences

3) Interests

If we were able to see the above 3 then a decision could be made as to message that person/couple or not.

Just a suggestion, what do you think?

Perhaps they have hidden their profile as they are not currently meeting/available, therefor that information would be pointless to you. Really bugs me when i hide my profile and guys still message me....

But then if they have made contact with you and their profile is hidden, then ask why and for them to display it for you to check them out

I think people hide their profile so no one can see their details which in turn means they get no mail from interested people.

Some people do hide it when not meeting.. but others just for security measures..

If not meeting you could state that on current status.

In general would just be nice to know how old the person is in the room you are chatting to, etc.

if its the chatroom then surely its upto them if they want to hide their profile,

i can understand if its down to them not wanting meets or if they now in relationship but they still might like to forum or chatroom and upto them if its hidden or not!#

if it irks you i'd just say sorry i dont chat to hidden profiles. plenty of others you can

You could, but sometimes people don't read all the profile.

We hide ours at chucking out time if we are online / Monday morning as it saves getting too many mails.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. If someone has hidden their profile, I take that as a clear indication that they do not want to receive messages from people they don't know.

If you're talking to them in chat, you can ask them these questions in chat, or you can ask them to message you with details (if they like the look of your profile), or you can ask permission to message them.

I wouldn't support any changes to the site, designed to result in 'hidden profiles' receiving more unwanted messages. Otherwise how on earth could we 'take a break' other than delete our profiles completely? (Which I wouldn't want to do, as I always want to keep my verifications and keep in touch with my chatfriends)

yeah i often hide my profile if im not looking to meet anyone new, espeically if ive dated someone i liked,

but wouldnt want to delete it and loose everything, and fun to come on the forums and keep in touch with my swinging friends as made some good ones along the way

Ooh, I'm glad you said that, I was starting to wonder if I was the only person who sometimes uses the 'hide profile' option to indicate when I am not actively looking for meets with new peeps!
