Some ideas on how to improve this site:

1. New members cannot delete their profile for 24 hours after joining.

2. New members should be given 5 days to verify their profile or have their profile deleted.

3. All existing unverified profiles should be given 10 days to verify their profile or have their profile deleted.

4. Non Site Supporters should have their permissions curbed (e.g. no unlimited blocks, no message filters).

What do people think?

Why on earth should people have to verify? Just because they are not does not mean they fake etc. These threads pop up every so often, generally from relatively new members who think they could run the site better than the current owners. Me? I don't give a monkey's, it's my choice if I do or I don't, and that's the way it should remain in my opinion

I have been a member of this site on and off for a number of years. So, don’t assume I don’t know what I’m talking about just because I have recently rejoined.

Also, if admin know how to run this site so well then why do they have a “Site Improvement” Group in the Forum?

Verification is a way of separating the chaff from the wheat. There are too many fakes on here that are left unchecked and unchallenged.

That seems pretty draconian to me. I certainly wouldn't have stuck around long enough to decide to support the site without unlimited blocks or filters.

If you have “Not looking for single men” on your profile then you shouldn’t be able message men! Filters should work both ways, not one way only!

So we can't do our own searching? Harsh. You'll be suggesting all filters get removed next and that we should have to receive and respond to messages from lots of people we don't want to meet lol.

A lot of suggestions have been made on verifications and permissions over the years.

I'm not particularly favourable to this one. Largely as it takes most single men months to get established.

People probably have a legal right to delete their profile when they want to due to GDPR.

The new video feature could work for sorting out genuine profiles.

A quick video of the profile user writing their username, Fab website address and the date, could deter the timewasters, pic collectors and so on.

The site could have video verification moderators dedicated to that one task.

Who agrees, that Fab should introduce a membership verification process where a picture of your passport or driving license should be included with the username picture you have to submit.

I'm sure this would stop 99% of the fake profiles on here.

Obviously Fab won't implement this sort thing, because all the site is interested in is money. Don't even improve the bugs an glitches it's full of.

Shame really because most on here are genuine people, but unfortunately it's being over run by boys and fakes

We certainly wouldn't send in photos of our passports. I don't have one for a start.

Neither would we send in a photo of our driving license.

I'm not sure how the site is only interested in money, when it's free to join.

While I agree that theres plenty of improvements that can be made to the site, however making more barriers to access the site isnt IMO a good suggestion. Why? Because the ease of access is what brings new members in, I'm willing to bet large numbers wouldnt have stayed for long if you enforced uploading sensitive information, or a paywall. Theres plenty of pay to use sites out there already so if thats the way you want it run then why not use them ?
